Convert PNG to JPG online, free and private

Turn PNG images into smaller JPG files in your browser, with full control over quality and the background colour used for transparent areas. Drop one file or a whole folder — nothing is uploaded, and you can download everything as a ZIP.

Your files stay on your device: they are processed in this browser tab’s memory and never uploaded.

    Why convert PNG to JPG?

PNG keeps every pixel exactly, which makes screenshots, photos and renders saved as PNG surprisingly large. JPG uses lossy compression tuned for photographs, so the same image is often five to ten times smaller — ideal for websites, email attachments, marketplaces and social posts that reject heavy files.

    What happens to transparency?

JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent pixels need a solid colour. The converter fills them with white by default; pick any other colour to match the page or slide the image will sit on. If you need to keep transparency, convert to WebP or keep the PNG.

    FAQ

Which JPG quality should I use?

Quality 80–90 is visually identical to the original for most photos and still much smaller. Go lower for thumbnails, higher for prints.

    Is my PNG uploaded anywhere?

No. The image is decoded and re-encoded inside your browser tab; it never leaves your device.

What can you do with an image converter?

An image converter fixes the everyday “this file won’t open” problem: designers turn WebP downloads into PNG for Photoshop, marketers shrink PNG screenshots into JPG for newsletters and switch site images to WebP or AVIF for faster pages, iPhone users convert HEIC photos to JPG for Windows and web forms, students and office workers combine photographed pages into a single PDF, and video creators prepare thumbnails, overlays and stills in the exact format their editor or platform expects — all without installing software or sending private images to a server.
